Dulwich Hamlet FC join forces with Whitehawk to raise money for Shout Out for Mental Health

This February, Dulwich Hamlet FC and Whitehawk FC will be joining forces for an awareness and fundraising campaign about Mental Health.

'Shout Out for Mental Health' is a campaign that has been driven by our very own Danny Mills. Having also played for Whitehawk, he has been central to this exciting and unique initiative.

Mental Health issues, particularly amongst young men, have risen sharply since the pandemic began. New research commissioned by Mind in partnership with the English Football League compares new polling data from YouGov with the same survey from 2009. The survey reveals that while some progress has been made, young men especially, feel worried or low, more regularly than ten years ago and are consequently twice as likely to feel suicidal.

Not only does this campaign work to raise awareness around mental health, it is the first time two non-league football clubs have collaborated on this scale as part of a joint campaign. We are proud to be working with another one of non league’s most progressive football clubs to show unity during the current times.
Throughout February there will be a number of fundraising and awareness events including a ‘Virtual’ match, played out on Twitter between the two sides. Like any matchday at Champion Hill, it wouldn’t be complete without our very popular 50/50 draw.

Following the similar pattern of our previous virtual 50/50 draws, we will be running another draw for the duration of the campaign.

The club’s share of the pot will be shared equally between Mind in Southwark and Lambeth and Mind in Brighton and Hove.

1st Prize – Half the ticket sales
2nd Prize – A signed Danny Mills shirt from either Dulwich or Whitehawk
3rd Prize - A signed Danny Mills shirt from either Dulwich or Whitehawk (whichever the 2nd prize winner didn’t pick).

The winners will be announced on 21st February during the ‘Evening with Danny Mill’ event via Zoom.
For now, the message is simple – Shout Out for Mental Health.

Raising Money for the King's College Hospital Children

Raising Money for the King's College Hospital Children

As attention begins to turn towards the festive season, Dulwich Hamlet FC is proud to announce that we will be supporting the King’s College Hospital Charity this Christmas.

This year we will be running a virtual 50/50 to support our local hospital. As always, the pot of money will be split between the winning ticket and club. The club’s share of the winnings will be used to buy gifts from the hospital’s Christmas gift list

The toys will then be delivered directly to the children’s department ready for Christmas. Unlike last year, we won’t be able to send any players to hand out the presents but we still hope to spread some festive cheer to those staying at King’s over the festive holiday.

Tickets, costing £1.50 each, will be available for purchase between Wednesday 25th November 2020 and Wednesday 9th December 2020.

How does it work?

Exactly the same as a match day at Champion Hill except with the help of modern technology:

  • You can buy your 50/50 tickets using your debit card through PayPal.
  • There is no limit on tickets, you can buy as many as you like.
  • Half the funds raised will go to the winner and the other half to the Support King's charity.
  • There will initially be 300 tickets available but we may increase the number at a later date if there is demand.
  • After you have made your purchase, you will be emailed your ticket numbers (please check your junk mail)
  • The winners will be chosen by a random number generator.
  • The winners will be announced on this website and across our social media channels on Saturday 12th

To buy your 50/50 tickets, please visit - https://dhfc5050.co.uk/

Please note, to cover the admin costs and Paypal charges we are charging £1.50 per ticket. These charges will vary depending on volume of tickets sold.

Welcome to our first Virtual 50/50 Draw

Welcome to our first Virtual 50/50 Draw

With football not happening for the foreseeable future we are keen to continue working in our community in whatever way we can.

For that reason we are launching a virtual 50/50 draw using the wonders of modern technology!

For those that have never bought a 50/50 ticket at Champion Hill, here is how it works

  • You buy a ticket or tickets
  • We make a draw and you could win half the pot or a pair of match tickets or even a pair of tickets for the board room when we get our season started.
  • The draw will close at midnight on Sunday 7th June 2020.
  • The winner will be announced on this website and across our social media channels on Monday 8th June 2020.

For this 50/50 draw, all proceeds will go to the King's College charity to help out NHS staff who have been keeping us safe throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic.
